MicroLED: brightness first

Inorganic LEDs deliver enormous luminance at low power, which is what a see-through waveguide needs. Full colour remains the manufacturing challenge.

Micro-OLED: resolution and colour first

OLED on silicon gives high pixel density, deep blacks and accurate colour, which suits enclosed or birdbath optics where light loss is lower.

How to read a product

See-through glasses that work outdoors usually mean microLED. Large sharp virtual screens on a tethered viewer usually mean micro-OLED.
