Your data on Lenscript
The Lenscript Rx checker and Find My Glasses questionnaire run entirely in your browser. Prescription values and answers are never transmitted to a server and are discarded when you leave the page.
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. Analytics and advertising cookies load only after consent where consent is legally required, and we never send prescription data, form contents or personally identifying values to any analytics provider.
Recording indicators
Most commercial camera glasses include a hardware capture light that cannot be disabled in software. That indicator is the social contract of the category. Any product that hides or defeats it should be treated as a red flag, and Lenscript records the indicator design in every product profile.
Consent and etiquette
- Say out loud that you are recording before you record people.
- Take the glasses off in changing rooms, bathrooms, clinics and schools.
- Assume live captions and translation are recording audio, because they are.
- Do not run object or face recognition on strangers.
Regional rules differ
Two-party consent laws, GDPR, workplace recording rules and venue policies vary widely by country and by state. Lenscript flags known regional restrictions on product pages where they exist, but local law is your responsibility, not the manufacturer's.
Data on the device
Before buying, check three things: whether AI queries are processed on-device or in the cloud, how long captured media is retained by the companion app, and whether voice recordings are used to train models by default. Those settings differ more between products than any spec on the box.
